Privacy Policy
The short version. Control Freak has no accounts and no sign-up. It collects no analytics, contains no advertising or tracking SDKs, and never asks for your name, email address or phone number.
What travels between your phone and your Mac — keystrokes, clipboard text, terminal output, screenshots of what is running — goes directly between those two devices over your own network, encrypted end to end. It does not pass through us, because there is nothing of ours for it to pass through.

What stays on your device
The following is stored on your phone and is never uploaded anywhere:
- Your device's identity key. The app generates a cryptographic key pair the first time it runs. The private half is held in the Android Keystore and never leaves the phone. It is what proves to your Mac that this phone is the one you paired.
- Your paired Macs. Each Mac's name, its public-key fingerprint, and the network address it was last seen at.
- Your settings, and a cached record of whether you have a Pro subscription.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
What is sent to your Mac
When you pair, your phone tells your Mac its public key, its model name (for example “Samsung SM-A356E”) and its Android version, so the Mac can show you which phone is connected and let you revoke it later. After that, the two exchange only what you ask them to: the commands you send, and the state your Mac reports back.
All of it is encrypted end to end using keys held only by those two devices. Your Mac keeps this information locally; it is not sent onward.
Where your data goes: nowhere
Control Freak talks to your Mac over your own local network, directly. Your commands, your clipboard, your terminal sessions and everything else stay between the two devices and your router.
There is no server of ours in the middle, because there is no server of ours. Apart from checking your subscription with the payment providers below, this app does not send your data anywhere.
Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled by Google Play and by RevenueCat, which manages the subscription on our behalf.
We never see or handle your card details. RevenueCat records your purchase history and some device information so your subscription can be restored on a new phone. It identifies you by your device's public key — not by your name or email — so your purchase is not linked to a personal identity by us.
Bug reports
If you use “Report a problem”, the app opens your own email app with a message addressed to us. You choose what to write, you choose whether to attach a screenshot, and you press send. Nothing is transmitted unless you do. We use what you send only to investigate the problem.
Permissions, and why

What we do not do
- No analytics, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising, no tracking.
- No selling or sharing of personal information. There is nothing to sell.
- No profiles, and no automated decisions about you.
- No account, so nothing to be breached.
Children
Control Freak is a tool for controlling your own computer and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Because we hold no account and no personal profile, there is very little of yours for us to hold. Everything the app stores is on your own devices and is deleted when you uninstall it. For purchase records held by RevenueCat or Google Play, or if you want to ask what we hold, email shuvokkr.dev@gmail.com and we will respond.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or where it goes, the date at the top will change and the updated version will appear here. Continuing to use the app after that means accepting the update.
